The Inbox

Sign in at translations.abair.ie with your ABAIR account. The editor opens on the inbox, your starting point each time.

New English arrives in the inbox automatically whenever a developer pushes. You don't need to be told that there is something to translate.

What the inbox shows

  • Recent changes: one card per project, the most recently changed first. Each card shows:

    • how many strings are left to translate in that project's recent changes;
    • the latest pushes, each with its commit message, branch, how long ago and who made it.

    Click a card to open that project on its To do list.

  • Backlog: projects with older strings that have been waiting for Irish since before the recent changes.

  • Projects: every project with its progress, so you can open any of them directly.

The sidebar also lists every project with the number of strings it still needs, or a ✓ when it is complete.

A typical session

  1. Open the inbox and pick the project at the top of Recent changes.
  2. Work through its To do list (see Translating), with the live preview open to see where each string appears.
  3. When you have finished a batch, publish it so it goes live.

Why the numbers can differ

A card's number only counts the strings from recent pushes. The project's To do list also includes older strings, so it can be larger than the number on the card.
